Shahjalal Jamia Masjid

> Bangladesh Islamic Society was formed in 1978 with the aim of providing facilities for prayers, religious activities and education for the local Bangladeshi Muslim community. This was the time when the community was suffering from very high rates of unemployment and severe socio-economic deprivation. Despite all of these, the local people contributed generously and Bangladesh Islamic Society purchased a terraced house on Ellers Road to convert it into a mosque, subsequently named as Shahjalal Jamia Masjid, Bangladesh Islamic Society.
